Our Story
Contento Candle Co. was inspired by and created in honor of two remarkable people - my parents. In their final years, both faced the quiet unraveling that comes with dementia - a journey that taught me the power of love and light.
As their world slowly shifted, something beautiful remained. Yet, through all of the uncertainty, they were often described with one beautiful word: Content.
That word stayed with me. It felt powerful. Peaceful. Whole.
Contento means “happy and content” in Italian. It captures the feeling I want to share. It’s not loud or flashy, but gentle and grounding. A kind of happiness you create for yourself.
When my Dad, who always loved the soft glow of a candle, first became ill, I started making candles - not as a business, but as a way to focus on something meaningful. It brought me comfort - a quiet source of peace that helped me feel steady in an unsteady time.
Over time, making candles became something deeper - a time to reflect and begin the healing process. What started at my kitchen table slowly turned into a pursuit of joy - the kind found in flickering lights, familiar scents, and relaxed moments.
These are not just candles; they are invitations. To pause. To feel. To connect.
This company is my way of honoring the peace my parents carried, even in their most difficult days. They gave me the courage to begin again - and the quiet belief that being content might just be the most beautiful kind of happiness.

The Process
At Contento Candle, each candle is thoughtfully handcrafted in small batches, using 100% soy wax to ensure a clean, even burn. Our fragrances are curated not just for their aroma, but for their ability to ground, soothe, and evoke a quiet sense of calm—like a deep exhale after a long day.
Every candle is poured into a blown glass vessel etched with the scent name and details, creating a timeless, refined finish meant to be both beautiful and enduring. This is more than a candle—it’s an intentional ritual, designed to help you slow down, reflect, and reconnect with yourself, wherever you are on your journey.

This mission is deeply personal to me—my work is inspired by my own parents’ experience with dementia, and every candle is lit with love, remembrance, and purpose.

HFC is a nonprofit organization on a mission to care for families impacted by Alzheimer’s disease, activate the next generation of Alzheimer’s advocates, and be a leader in brain health research and education.

Are your candles made with natural ingredients?Yes. Each candle is hand poured using 100% soy wax and premium, phthalate-free fragrance oils for a clean, long-lasting burn.

What sizes do you offer?We offer two sizes: Standard single wick (8 oz) and Large double wick (16 oz).

What type of vessel do you use?Our candles are hand-poured into white blown glass vessels, finished with a soft glossy coating that gently diffuses the candlelight for a warm, ambient glow. Fragrance names are subtly etched onto the glass for an elevated, minimalist finish that feels timeless in any space. Each candle is topped with a high-gloss black lid featuring a silicone inner fitment to ensure a secure seal. Designed with intention, the lid also doubles as a coaster when flipped, adding both polish and practicality to your candle experience.

How long do the candles burn?The standard candles burn for around 40-50 hours, and the large ones for about 60-65 hours, depending on how you care for them.

How do I best care for my Contento candle?For a Clean, Luxurious Burn: Gently trim the wick to ¼ inch before each lighting Allow the first burn to create a full melt pool (approximately 4 hours) Limit subsequent burns to 3–4 hours to preserve fragrance quality Always burn your candle within sight, away from drafts, pets, and children A Little Fun Fact! Candles possess a “memory.” The wax will only melt as far as it did during the first burn - so let it reach the edges to ensure an even, beautiful experience every time. Pro Tip for Scent Sophisticates: Allow your candle to form a full melt pool with each use. This prevents "tunneling" (when a candle burns down the center, leaving a ring of un-melted wax along the edges) and enhances "scent throw" (a candle’s ability to diffuse its fragrance throughout your space).
