Contento Candle Co. was created in honor of my parents.
In their final years, both lived with dementia — a journey that reshaped my understanding of love, presence, and finding peace in the most difficult of moments.
As their world slowly shifted, there was one word people often used to describe them: content.
That word stayed with me.
Contento means "happy, contented, cheerful." in Italian. To me, it means something quieter — a sense of warmth and calm that exists even when life feels uncertain.
When my father, who loved the soft glow of candlelight, first became ill, I began making candles as a way to hold onto something meaningful. What started at my kitchen table became a source of steadiness during an unsteady time.
I found myself slowing down. Noticing more. A familiar scent. A quiet evening. The simple ritual of lighting a candle at the end of the day.
Contento grew from that stillness.
Each candle is made with the hope that it brings a moment of calm into your home — and a small, steady light into your day.
This is my way of honoring my parents, and the quiet strength they carried, even on the hardest of days.

The Process
Each candle is hand-poured in small batches, in New Jersey, using 100% soy wax for a clean, even burn.
Our fragrances are thoughtfully composed — not overpowering, but quietly expressive. Designed to bring warmth and atmosphere to the spaces you live in most intimately.
Each candle is poured into a blown-glass vessel with an understated aesthetic that complements rather than competes.
Made slowly. Meant to be enjoyed slowly.
