Our Story
Contento Candle Co. was inspired by and created in honor of my parents.
In their final years, both lived with dementia — a journey that changed my understanding of love, presence, appreciation, and finding peace in difficult moments.
As their world slowly shifted, there was one word people often used to describe them: content.
That word stayed with me.
Contento means “happy and content” in Italian, but to me it represents something deeper — a sense of warmth, calm, and gratitude that exists even when life feels uncertain.
When my Dad, who always loved the soft glow of candlelight, first became ill, I began making candles as a way to focus on something meaningful. What started quietly at my kitchen table became a source of comfort and steadiness during a difficult time.
I found myself appreciating small things more deeply — a familiar scent, a quiet evening, the comfort of home, the ritual of lighting a candle at the end of the day.
Over time, candle making became more than a creative outlet. It became a reminder to slow down, be present, and create space for moments that often go unnoticed.
Contento was built from that experience.
Each candle is made with the hope that it offers a small moment of calm in the midst of everyday life.
This company is my way of honoring my parents and the quiet strength they carried, even on the hardest of days.

The Process
At Contento Candle Co., each candle is hand-poured in small batches using 100% soy wax for a clean, even burn.
Our fragrances are thoughtfully curated — not overpowering, but quietly expressive.
Designed to bring warmth, comfort, and atmosphere into the everyday.
Each candle is poured into a blown-glass vessel with an understated aesthetic intended to complement the spaces we live in most intimately.
Made slowly. Meant to be enjoyed slowly.
Dementia Touches Millions

Approximately 55 million people worldwide are living with Alzheimer's disease or related forms of dementia. It impacts not only those diagnosed but also their families and caregivers.
This mission is deeply personal to me -my work is inspired by my own parents’ experience with dementia, and every candle is lit with love, remembrance, and purpose.
Giving Back with Every Candle
A portion of every purchase supports the work of Hilarity for Charity (HFC)
HFC is a nonprofit organization on a mission to care for families impacted by Alzheimer’s disease, activate the next generation of Alzheimer’s advocates, and be a leader in brain health research and education.
From caregiver respite grants to brain health programs for young adults, HFC is bringing awareness, resources, and hope to families affected by dementia.
